As an ELA Teacher, you will:
Instruction and Curriculum Delivery Provide engaging, differentiated lessons aligned with New York State standards. Utilize various co-teaching models and instructional strategies to ensure all students can access the curriculum. Create and deliver small group skill instruction and individualized support during resource periods. Assessment and Data Analysis Formally and informally assess student learning, analyze data, and track progress toward academic goals. Maintain assessment binders and progress trackers to monitor student achievement. Collaboration and Planning Collaborate with co-teachers, grade-level teams, and instructional support staff to co-design lessons, share student work, and align instruction with curriculum standards. Participate in regular planning, professional development sessions, and school-wide initiatives. Student Support and Accommodations Ensure appropriate accommodations are provided in alignment with IEPs and 504 plans, including supplemental aids like graphic organizers and testing accommodations. Implement behavior management techniques to foster a positive and productive learning environment. Family Engagement Build strong partnerships with families by maintaining consistent communication, sharing both successes and areas for improvement, and actively involving them in their children’s learning journey. Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field New York State Teaching Certification in English Language Arts Proficiency in technology, including Google Suite and online learning platforms Preferred:
Master’s degree in Education or related field 2+ years of successful teaching experience in urban school settings Strong commitment to promoting equity and critical thinking Schedule & Commitment
